Matthieuuuuuu! Thanks for the upbeat words of encouragement. While this particular post and decision are from nearly 2 years ago now (and obviously, at that time, we decided to stay), we did recently find ourselves tackling the same question again (always).

Things now are very different. The baby changed everything – all good, of course, but it means our priorities and responsibilities have changed… drastically. Home – with family, security, etc for the baby – is calling us back. We are heeding the call.

Plus, you and everyone else dear to us LEFT a looong time ago! We are always the last to leave the party… but seems like the time has finally come for us.

You are 100% correct, of course, mon ami. No matter where we go, our time here, with life lessons learned and friendships made, will continue to enlighten and enrich us. And for that, I thank you. And thank Greece and this paradise known as Crete.

Care to visit us one more time before we vacate the premises?

I heartfully sympathise with your dilemna. My past life experience are there to prove that my advices would be of a very poor quality.
All I can say is that Florin’s comment is brilliant. Hesitation is so fuckin’ civilized, screw civilisation
At the same time, should you decide to leave, everything that you’ve learned here in Greece* can be either transposed or introduced in any new social environment/group of friend you may develop elsewhere.
My thoughts are with you guys.

Yeah, I guess I figure I will talk baby ad nauseam when the kid actually shows up, so I am trying to downplay it a little… And believe me, taking on Odysseus (that’s the car’s name) has been quite a journey!
